The PIC is interested in working with a wide range of agencies and island groups, including non-US affiliated. Some of the many issues discussed at our meetings are exotic invasive species, deforestation, erosion, coral reef protection, fire, conservation education, agroforestry, and more.
In 2002, the PIC pooled funds to have a video made called Our Islands Ourselves. This year we are pooling funds to create an interactive web site www.islandforestry.org that will be linked with many US Federal, local, and international agencies.
The 2007 PIC meeting will be held in the Marshall Islands.
